The Therapeutic Touch Network of Canada (TTNC) as owner of the trademarked words Therapeutic Touch® authorizes members of Canadian Therapeutic Touch Networks to use the words Therapeutic Touch in their practice when they are a member in good standing in the province/territory in which they reside. PTTNS is a member Network of TTNC. Members of PTTNS must meet the following requirements:

           

            - paid their current annual membership dues to PTTNS                    

            - signed the Code of Ethics (or equivalent) required by PTTNS

            - completed a minimum of a Foundations of Therapeutic Touch course

The Therapeutic Touch Trademark

 

The Trademark THERAPEUTIC TOUCH was approved and registered by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office of the Government of Canada on April 29th, 2003 and ownership was held by The Therapeutic Touch Network of Ontario until May 2017 when it was transferred to Therapeutic Touch Networks of Canada.

The trademark protects the practice and modality of Therapeutic Touch, being a "structured and standardized healing practice performed by practitioners trained to be sensitive to the receiver's energy field that surrounds the body; there are three progressive levels of advancing depth, training and experience; the practice is conducted in a standard sequence of steps by passing the hands over and around the receiver's body, and by means of compassion and intent attempting to balance and smooth the receiver's energy field; no touching is required."
